Structure
An integrated, two-headed structure that reinforces local management under the leadership of an Iberian Governing Council.
Structure and Governance
The governing bodies of IMEB are a Governing Council and a Technical Committee.
Governing Council
The Governing Council is composed of:
- The President and one elected representative from the Colégio de Engenharia Geológica e de Minas de Portugal.
- The Vice-President and one elected representative from the High Council of Official Colleges of Mining Engineers of Spain.
- Four Members of the Technical Committee.
Council Responsibilities
- To determine IMEB policy and give approval to the activities carried out.
- The approval of budgets and annual accounts.
- The establishment of membership fees.
- To approve the Statutes and the corresponding Internal Regulations.
- To authorise the preparation of documents on issues related to the profession.
- To establish working groups to prepare reports on matters relevant to IMEB.
- To establish groups of experts available to answer questions sent to them by the Council.
Ordinary Council meetings are held with the frequency necessary for the smooth operation of IMEB, at any of its central offices.
Technical Committee
The Technical Committee is composed of four members, two from each of the organisations, who are directly elected by their respective recognised professional organisation, who may designate other members as necessary. Technical Committee members are members of IMEB.
For the development of the Technical Committee's activities, both Organisations provide adequate administrative facilities within their own headquarters.
Executive
The IMEB Executive is responsible for the daily administration of IMEB. There are two executive teams, one in Spain and one in Portugal.
The executive teams are led by members of the Technical Committee, who have the freedom to organise their teams with the necessary structure to plan and manage the daily operations of IMEB in each country.
